Hear how Tonkean built its impressive board of directors on TechCrunch Live

    Matt Burns 11:00 AM PST · February 14, 2023

A startup lives or dies by its board of directors. Sagi Eliyahu co-founded Tonkean in 2015 and has since raised money from some top investors, including Joanne Chen from Foundation Capital. Chen joined Tonkean’s board of directors in 2019. The two are set to discuss the best ways for founders to work with their board of directors, including handling disagreements, preparing for fundraising events and hiring (or firing) senior management.

Eliyahu started Tonkean in 2015 as a no-code development platform. The company raised its seed round in 2019, adding Foundation Capital GP Joanne Chen to its board of directors. Raviraj Jain, partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, invested in the company’s Series A and joined the board in April 2020. In June 2021, Tonkean closed a $50 million Series B, and Miles Clements, a partner at Accel, joined Tonkean’s board, too.

I hope you can attend this TechCrunch Live event on February 22 at 11:30 a.m. PST / 2:30 p.m. EST. Building and managing a board of directors is one of the most critical parts of building a lasting business, and this event will break down the process into manageable steps.

Like every TechCrunch Live event, it’s free to attend and participate. Watch the show on YouTube or Facebook, or join TechCrunch’s event platform Hopin to ask the guests questions and network with other attendees.
